Nick’s practice focuses on representing families, individuals and small businesses as a complete family and business practitioner. He assists individuals and business owners with trust and estate matters, working to create estate plans tailored to their individual requirements, ranging from simple individual wills and powers of attorney, to larger clients with revocable living trusts, to complex trust arrangements involving asset protection and tax concerns. He also represents personal representatives, heirs and beneficiaries in probate proceedings.
As a corporate attorney, Nick has worked for businesses ranging from solo LLCs to Fortune 500 corporations, in commercial litigation, construction disputes, liability cases, and regulatory or eminent domain issues. He has provided advice, document drafting and negotiation for companies regarding employment contracts, supplier or vendor agreements, leases, buy-sell and other various shareholder agreements. Nick has successfully litigated cases in both state and federal courts, achieving results pre-suit, via settlement or mediation, and jury verdict. He has also pursued and defended appeals in both the Wisconsin and 7th Circuit appellate courts. Representative matters include landmark Wisconsin Supreme Court decisions regarding eminent domain takings, pursuing coverage and bad-faith insurance issues and achieving a seven-figure settlement in litigation, and successfully obtaining defense verdicts in multiple personal injury actions.
